  • It is now 10 am. The victim was shot at night, somewhere between 2 and 3 am.
  • Given the totality of the facts, you conclude that the victim was shot with a silenced gun. How else can you explain the fact that no one in the house heard three shots?
  • Judging by the marks at the crime scene, Smith was shot in his bed. Why was he dragged to the study? Perhaps they wanted to confuse the investigation. These rich people clearly have something to hide...
  • The murder weapon was unlikely to be antique. The first silencers appeared in 1894. It's unlikely that the killer would have acquired such an old weapon and an equally old silencer for such a basic crime.
